The team of interpreters who bring the magic of the Late Late Toy Show to the Deaf community are making their final preparations ahead of tomorrow's big night.

Four interpreters will be working from a special studio to deliver a live Irish Sign Language (ISL) version of the biggest TV event of the year on the RTÉ News Channel and RTÉ Player.

The team includes two Deaf interpreters for the first time, Sarah Jane O'Regan and Jason Maguire.

They will be working with hearing interpreters, Amanda Coogan and Ciara Grant.

"The Toy Show is a really big part of my life," Sarah Jane O'Regan explained. "Ever since I was small watching The Toy Show, I didn't know what was going on.

"Children were playing with toys. It was exciting but I didn't know what they were saying and I missed a lot. But I still felt the magic in some ways," Ms O'Regan added.

"Then when I was asked to be involved as a Deaf interpreter, I couldn't believe that I could access the magic and then transform the magic into ISL and give it to other kids".

Audio description for the Blind and Vision Impaired audience will be available for the repeats of the Toy Show on Sunday and next Monday.
