The War of Independence on RTÉ History commemorates the centenaries of key events in the conflict. The site offers accounts and explainers of crucial events from the formation of the First Dáil and the Soloheadbeg ambush, through Bloody Sunday and the Burning of Cork, right up to the signing of the Treaty in December 1921, accompanied by image galleries and interactive maps. This project is the product of a partnership between RTÉ History, the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media and The Atlas of the Irish Revolution edited by John Crowley, Donal Ó Drisceoil, Mike Murphy and John Borgonovo and published by the Cork University Press.
