There is more than one way to fell a tree contestants demonstrate at the Wicklow Chainsaw Championship.

The air was buzzing with the sound of chainsaws at a forestry plantation near Rathdrum. The fourth annual County Wicklow Chainsaw Championships saw sixteen lumberjacks show off their skills felling, trimming and jointing trees.

16 competitors gathered for the fourth annual county Wicklow chainsaw championships.

Oliver Keogh from the Glen of Imaal took first place. It took him only seven minutes to fell, trim and joint a tree, but he and his fellow foresters were also judged on safety, accuracy and general work. He is presented with the Championship Cup by Mr PF O'Kelly of the Forestry and Wildlife Service.
