As the First Dates restaurant welcomes in its hopefuls for the new season, maitre’d Mateo, barman Ethan and waiters Peter and Alice are joined by new staff member, Libby.

Love is once again bursting at the seams of Ireland’s most romantic restaurant. On hand, as always, with encouraging words are maitre’d Mateo, master-mixologist Ethan, bubbly waiters Pete and Alice and the restaurant’s newest recruit, waitress Libby.

Newcomer Libby started waitressing as a teenager. After spending 2 years in New York, she moved back to Dublin and has worked in restaurants ever since. Aside from her job, she likes to keep fit and loves to sea swim. "But my speciality is joining gyms, and then… never going to them. But being on my feet serving tables is enough exercise, right?"

For the first time, a mother and daughter, Amy and Delia, will be coming into the restaurant together to date potential partners. These two are a force of nature and kick off by ordering shots at the bar. Will their suitors be able to keep up with this fun-loving duo?

Daters enter with a hope of catching an intoxicating blend of romance, fanciful flirtations and a second date in the nation’s most love-up eatery.

Series 4, Episode 1

In the first ever mother and daughter double date, Delia (22) and her mum Amy (53) from Wicklow are matched with Drogheda supermarket manager Cian (23) and old fashioned romantic Donie (56) from Wexford.

Making the most of his looks Aidan (26) from Tralee launches an all out charm offensive on Siobhan (23) from Youghal, who’s not entirely chirpy at the prospect of becoming his latest ‘bird’.

Rapper Dafe (21) from Kildare, aka Max Zunga from Tebi Rex, comes over all lyrical, hoping that his winning words will strike a chord with shy and retiring psychology graduate, Siobhan (23) from Athy.

Elsewhere, irrepressible entrepreneur Martin (25) from Finglas hopes the pluses outweigh the minuses on his date with super positive Polish-born Izabela (21) from Clondalkin.

Will cupid strike?
