From 2017 - Marty In The Morning meets the legendary Michael Gambon, born in Dublin (Cabra, to be specific) and acclaimed on stage, screen and television - to one generation, he'll always be The Singing Detective, to another he's Dumbledore in the Harry Potter films.
Winner of four BAFTA TV awards and three Olivier Awards, Gambon was in Ireland in 2017 to participate in The Gate Theatre's Beckett Friel Pinter Festival, a final hurrah on the part of then-departing Gate Artistic Director Michael Colgan, who joined Marty and Michael for a freewheeling chat that takes in everything from Gambon's love for vintage pistols (he's a collector) to Marty's big-screen debut - all 8 seconds of it - alongside Gambon in Conor McPherson's The Actors.
