It had been a much quieter summer when it came to movie promotion as stars across the world stepped back from award shows, red carpets and more while the SAG-AFTRA strike progressed.

However, with the strike resolved, actors can return to promoting their projects, not least among them to two mega hits of the year: Oppenheimer and Barbie.

Cillian Murphy and Margot Robbie - the stars of the respective blockbusters - walked the red carpet at the Deadline Contenders: Los Angeles event, alongside a host of famous faces, eager to discuss their upcoming work.

Murphy spoke on a panel at the event, alongside producer Emma Thomas, costume designer Ellen Mirojnick, Jamie Leigh McIntosh of the hair department and VFX supervisor Andrew Jackson. He detailed the experience of filming one of the biggest films in recent history, recalling the moment director Christopher Nolan asked him to play the lead, Robert J. Oppenheimer.

He also walked the red carpet, wearing a navy knitted jumper and matching navy trousers, finished off with dark brown leather shoes.

Robbie, meanwhile, made a brief return to the kitsch and flirty looks of the Barbie PR campaign, wearing a retro-inspired white shirt tied at the bust and high waisted wide-legged jeans that were turned up at the cuffs. She accessorised with a cherry red belt and matching handbag and peep toe shoes, all by Bottega Veneta.
