Derry-born designer Jonathan Anderson led the style pack at the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) Fashion Awards last night, rubbing shoulders with celebrities like Anne Hathaway, Kim Kardashian and Serena Williams.

Often called the "Oscars of fashion", the dazzling ceremony took place last night, with stars coming out in all their glamorous glory to celebrate the best and brightest talents in American fashion.

Held at the Museum of Natural History in Manhattan, New York City and hosted by Anne Hathaway, after original host Sarah Jessica Parker had to pull out due to "unforeseen circumstances", it was a glitzy affair as designers walked the white carpet with celebrities, many of them wearing creations by the designers themselves.

One such pair was Anderson and actress Greta Lee, who wore a striking black off-the-shoulder column gown by the designer, featuring a circular neckline edged supported by a large gold ring.

Among the honorees on the night were Gwyneth Paltrow's Goop, and Serena Williams who was named Fashion Icon of the Year recipient. Vera Wang also received the Board of Directors’ Tribute for her impact on the bridal industry, Maria Cornejo took home the Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement Award, and Anderson was named International Designer of the Year for his work at JW Anderson and Loewe.

A host of famous faces walked the white carpet too, such as Kim Kardashian who wore a slinky leather-look black gown by Chrome Hearts, featuring a halterneck and embossed cross motif.

Hathaway wore not one but two stunning designs while playing host. First was an elaborate denim two-piece by Ralph Lauren made up of a corset top and trailing full skirt, while the second was a romantic sheer red and black ruffled gown.
