Speaking about their new song, they say, "Star Crossed is the first time we got into the studio to serve a tune to its full extent and take our time to round off a finished product and take risks by adding elements that listeners who are familiar with our work or people who have come to see us live haven’t yet heard from us on a record or in a live situation and we’re glad to have taken that step forward with production."

Tell us three things about yourself . . .

We started in secondary school, an inter schools’ competition cropped up on our music teacher’s radar and was looking for a band to enter so we formed and performed a half decent cover of Under The Bridge and came in at second place, the following year we came third. Our first gig was when we were all in 6th year in Drop Dead Twice during the autumn of 2019, the only people in attendance were our parents, our music teachers and very few of our friends that managed to get in, one of us was underage at the time, so once our set ended the member in question was rapidly asked to leave the premises for singing along to a performance of Losing My Religion by R.E.M. We spent a lot of time listening to records together during lockdown which informed a lot of the music we’ve released and that we’ve been playing live, we still have stuff to work on from that time. Stick us back into lockdown, and we’ll deliver the goods.

How would you describe your music?

It’s hard for us to pinpoint what we sound like, we all listen to different things during a specific period and what we all listen tends to find its way into our music, we’ve been listening to a lot of Queens of the Stone Age, LCD Soundsystem, Idles and The Streets recently, so elements of those artists will subconsciously bleed into our ideas and songwriting. Saying that, we do like to go back to our favourite records and being 17 and writing from that perspective, but it’s also been fun maturing and experimenting with our songwriting, we value our songwriting time so much every time we get the chance to do it, we will make the most of it.

Who are your musical inspirations?

Kilian: - The Stone Roses, The Strokes and The Smiths.

David: - Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd and Kings of Leon, the latter being my favourite band.

Davy: - Oasis, Fontaines D.C and The Police.

What was the first gig you ever went to?

Kilian: The 1975 in the 3 Arena in 2016 with my mum, I got my first bass around that time as well.

David: Barry Gibb in the 3Arena was my first gig, I went with my dad and my sister.

Davy: First gig was, like many Irish kids of our age, The Script at the 3Arena.

What was the first record you ever bought?

Kilian: the first record I bought myself was AM by Arctic Monkeys. I used to have it blaring in the background while on Call of Duty with David.

David: Because of the Times by Kings of Leon and is still my favourite album, we listen to that a lot collectively, it plays quite a big role in our influences.

Davy: Again, with The Script, my aunt bought me their debut album but the first album ever I fell in love with was Definitely Maybe by Oasis. It was the first album that really got me into guitar music and has had a huge influence on how I play and write.

Favourite song right now?

Kilian: Manhattan Youth by Been Stellar has been getting rinsed lately, Davy and I stumbled into their gig in Workman’s last year, we’d never heard of them it was a great introduction.

David: If I Had A Gun - Noel Gallagher’s High-Flying Birds.

Davy: Fav song right now is Nearly Forgot My Broken Heart by Chris Cornell.

What’s your favourite lyric of all time?

Kilian: "Son I’m 30, I’m only with your mother cos she’s dirty, and I don’t have a decent bone in me, what you get is just what you see yeah". Absolute classic Shaun Ryder, not my favourite of all time but it has a great delivery and can always get a bit of a chuckle out of it.

David: "So I called up the Captain "Please bring me my wine "he said, "We haven't had that spirit here since 1969". Classic Eagles.

Davy: Favourite lyric at the moment is from 1049 Gotho, "there’s no right side of the bed with a body like mine and a mind like mine."
