Round six of the BKT United Rugby Championship games sees the mouth-watering clash of table-toppers Leinster and champions Munster.

Saturday's renewal at the Aviva Stadium is a rematch of last season’s memorable semi-final that Munster edged thanks to a late drop-goal.

Leinster will be out for some measure of revenge in a game that is close to a sell-out at Lansdowne Road.

Elsewhere, Connacht face a daunting task against the Bulls, who will be able to call upon a number of Springbok World Cup winners, in Pretoria.

Ulster are the last of the Irish provinces in action and have a short hop across to Glasgow, who sit second in the table.

The Bulls, who had topped the standings before Round 5 were beaten 31-23 by Edinburgh last week and enter Round 6 in seventh place, two spots behind Connacht.

Jake White's side had Marcell Coetzee sent off as they let a first-half lead slip in Scotland.

They can, however, call upon a number of World Cup-winners for this match, a third ever meeting of the teams.

Canan Moodie, Willie le Roux, Kurt-Lee Arendse and Marco van Staden are now available as the Bulls bid to build on a 13-game winning run at the venue against northern hemisphere sides.

Pete Wilkins’ Connacht, top carriers in the league with 659, won a hard-fought match against the Sharks 13-12 last weekend as they capitalised on a number of basic errors by the hosts.

That made it four wins from five so far but the Bulls have lost just twice at the high-altitude Loftus Versfeld in the URC since February 2022, to Stormers and Lions in successive matches last February and March.

Temperatures are expected to be hovering around 30C when the match kicks off.

The game of the weekend is undoubtedly the match-up of rivals Leinster and Munster in Dublin 4.

The hosts were beaten on their last two outings at this venue, against Munster in the semi-final, and against La Rochelle in the Champions Cup final, so they will be aiming to put things right.

They lead the way coming into round six, ahead of Glasgow Warriors on points difference at the top of the table.

Leo Cullen's men warmed up for this Interpro with a big win, 54-5, over Scarlets last week, while welcoming back a healthy contingent of Ireland players.

Holders Munster, meanwhile, eked out a different type of win at home to last year’s beaten finalists Stormers. Graham Rowntree’s side won 10-3 in atrocious conditions in Limerick. They sit sixth on 17 points in the table after three wins, a loss and a draw.

Injury has ruled out Peter O’Mahony and Jack O’Donoghue.

The teams have clashed on 168 previous occasions with Leinster having the edge by 107 wins to 50, and 11 games drawn.

Glasgow welcome Ulster to Scotstoun where their only loss since October 2021 was to Munster in last season's quarter-final.

The two teams have both won four and lost one so far, with both defeats coming in away games against Connacht.

Warriors beat Leinster in the opening game and last weekend beat Benetton 26-12, while Ulster came from behind to record a 24-17 win over the Lions but they failed to get a bonus point.

Ulster's only defeat to a Scottish opponent since the 2019 semi-final was 11-17 against Glasgow on their most recent visit to Scotstoun last February.

The visitors, who this week welcomed South Africa prop Steven Kitshoff to their camp, have won only twice at Scotstoun in the Championship, 22-17 in 2016 and 19-13 in 2021.
