More than 24 people have been before Dublin District Court charged with a variety of offences following the unrest in the city last night.

Most of those brought before the court were charged with public order offences.

Three people were charged with possessing weapons while four people were charged in connection with possessing stolen property.

One woman faced a charge of trespass while three people were charged under the Misuse of Drugs Act.

Those arrested were spread across three separate courts in the Criminal Courts of Justice.

Reeves Fox, 24, from Park Villas, Longford was charged with possessing knives at Parliament Street in Dublin 2.

He was also charged with a public order offence.

Josh Brophy, 35, of no fixed address, was charged with possession of a knuckleduster at Parnell Street in Dublin 1 and 21-year-old Abdulwahab Salawe of Tyrrelstown in Dublin 15 was charged with possession of a knife at Wolfe Tone Street in Dublin 1 and with obstructing a garda.

Jamie Robinson, 23, of Windmill Avenue in Crumlin was charged with possessing stolen property including eight boxes of cigarettes and a Puma hoodie and socks at Parnell Street in Dublin 1.

Aaron Brophy, 32, of Brendan Behan Court in Dublin 1 was charged with possessing stolen property including three boxes of John Player Blue cigarettes, four packets of cigarette skins and €440 in cash.

Sorcha O'Donoghue, 45, of Kildonan Road in Finglas was charged with possession of clothes and electronic items to a value of €200.

Stefan Dixon, 20, of Cushlawn Park in Tallaght was charged with possessing clothing to the value of €100 knowing it was stolen or being reckless as to whether it was stolen.

He was also charged with possessing ketamine at North Lotts in Dublin 1.

Most of the rest of those who came before the courts were charged with various public order offences.

The youngest of the accused was 19 years old while the oldest was 57.

Most of those charged were granted bail. The courts imposed strict bail conditions including a condition that the accused people stay away from Dublin city centre unless it was necessary to go there for work.

In many cases, the accused people must sign on several times a week at their local garda station and abide by a nightly curfew from 11pm to 6am.

Most are due back in court in the new year.

Among the others charged in court today were Charlene Deegan, 40, of James Street in Dublin 8 who was charged with trespassing in a café on Wellington Quay and 25-year-old Igor Grigorita of Blackcastle Lodge in Navan, who was charged with obstructing a garda and resisting arrest as well as a public order offence.

26-year-old Shauna O'Hanlon of Elm Mount Avenue in Beaumont, 29-year-old Nathan Watters of Sugarloaf Crescent, Bray in Co Wicklow, 27-year-old Gavin Doyle of Forest Road in Swords, 20-year-old Jake O’Connell of Cromlech Fields in Ballybrack, 55-year-old William Casey of Beechwood park in Dún Laoghaire, 37-year-old Matthew Fallon of Sherrard Avenue in Dublin 1, 26-year-old Paul Courtney of Woodlawn Drive in Santry, 23-year-old Shane McGonagle of Upper Churchtown Road in Dublin 14, 43-year-old Karl Crawley of MacDermott Apartments in Dublin 1, 28-year-old Keith Devine of Peter McVerry hostel on the New Cabra Road, 57-year-old Mark Wiggins of Parnell Square in Dublin 1 and 25-year-old David Moffat of Moyne Road in Ranelagh were all charged with public order offences.

James Reid, 31, of Newbrook Avenue in Donaghmede and 19-year-old Paul O’Toole of Springfield Gardens in Celbridge, Co Kildare each faced charges of obstructing a garda.
